Town Cleanup Day: Saturday April 20th 8:30-11am

Many families, civic groups, and businesses have made this volunteer activity an annual tradition – a great way to neatly tuck away the long winter and fully embrace the season ahead. This year's event once again sponsored by Huggins Hospital and the Town of Wolfeboro Solid Waste.

Of course anyone can pick up litter along their street whenever they wish and indeed many people already have. One of the benefits of participating in Town Cleanup Day is that full bags of litter may be left on the side of the road where they will be collected by the town the following day. This added convenience can be enough of an incentive for the general do-gooder to hold off on their curb cleanup until the big day, in this case Saturday April 20th.

If you are interested in participating in Wolfeboro Town Cleanup Day, there will be a sign-up table open from 8:30am to 11:00 where you are asked to register - at GALA’s offices at 23 Bay Street. The registration table will be stocked with gloves, safety vests and bags for all volunteers, as well as a list of street assignments for you to choose from if you do not already have one in mind. Registration is important to help the crew at the Wolfeboro Solid Waste Facility know which streets to collect bags the following day.

Please remember to wear bright colors and bring your own water. Anyone driving the roads that Saturday morning be extra careful and contentious of volunteers. For more information or to register a group contact Ivette Babylon at G.A.L.A. by calling 569-0169 or email [email protected].

Located at Global Awareness Local Action (GALA) ➡️ 23 Bay st in Wolfeboro.
