Tap Into Maple Mar 2nd

Saturday March 2nd | 10am-2pm | Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center

90 minute programs begin at at the top of each hour 10 am-2 pm

Experience a Northeast tradition that predates New England—making maple syrup! From tapping a tree to tasting delicious maple syrup, you will take an inside look into every step of the syrup making process. Our naturalists will help you identify maple trees, learn the parts of the tree and their functions, and how the maple sap is turned into syrup.

Snowshoes or snow cleats available (no extra charge) to borrow or guests may bring their own.

Recommended Ages: Multigenerational
Physical Demand [4] = Activity includes around 1 mile of walking on trails with uneven terrain and hills
Cost: $15 (Non-Members); FREE for Members

Cyclekart Ice Race #3 Saturday Mar 2nd

Saturday March 2nd  | 11am-5pm | Squam River Landing

The World's longest running Cyclekart Ice Race! Wheel-to-wheel racing on Lake Little Squam courtesy of the Northeast Cyclekart Club and the Squam Trail Busters snow mobile club.

Friday 01 Mar- Arrive Ashland / Holderness NH, Pre-Race Dinner at "The Common Man" in Ashland

Saturday 02 Mar- P99J+6P Ashland, NH 03217, just after the covered bridge on Lake Little Squam

1100- open practice / qualifying
1300- race [laps and # heats TBD, pending conditions and Cyclekarts present]
1400- Awards, track back open for laps, grudge races, etc
Post-Race dinner TBD

Cyclekarts must follow Stevenson Guidelines

BRING: DOT Helmet, neck brace, dress for extreme cold weather.

Racing is dangerous! Attend at your own risk.

Additional-
Gentleman's racing, absolutely no contact, safe passing only.

This event is made possible by the great folks in the Squam Trail Busters. Shawn, Jonathan, and all the STB fellas spend weeks checking the ice, laying out and plowing the track, and organizing their crew for a day of bonfires, grilling and refreshing drinks on the frozen lake!

Winter Carnival Mar 2nd

Saturday March 2nd  | 11am-2pm | 876 North Main Street, Laconia

Join us for a free family event for the community! The Boys & Girls of the Lakes Region is holding its first winter carnival. The event will include face painting, a bounce house, games, and so much more. Friends of the Lakes Region and other local organizations will be joining the event to celebrate and provide a fun and free indoor event for families.

Kids Fishing Derby Mar 3rd

Sunday March 3rd  | 9am-12pm | Lily Pond, Gilford

The Belknap County Sportsmen’s Association is hosting a free kids fishing tournament on Lily Pond. There is no cost or pre-registration. Show up on 3/3 to participate.
